Chrono-Rogue is an adventurous tabletop roleplaying game that combines time travel and piracy against a grim backdrop as humanity struggles from a doomed fate. Blades will be drawn, treasures will be seized, and mysteries will be uncovered, as characters fight against secret forces and the machinations of time.

You take the role of a Chrono-Rogue, a criminal who travels through history itself to steal beautiful artifacts, murder world leaders, or topple empires with subtle or overt actions.  Aboard your slip-ship, you and your crew will punch into various timelines and use unique training and chronomantic abilities to fight powerful warriors, thwart vicious assassins, and manipulate crafty nobles to your will.

With over 35 different character backgrounds, Chrono-Rogue has a lot of replayability and customization for your character.  Backgrounds can increase a character’s starting skills, talents, money, specialized gear and more.  Each Background comes with a unique flaw as well, building in certain story beats which can be explored later along with a rigorous merit and flaw system. With this, players can create a host of unique characters capable of long and exciting journeys through time.

Invocations-

Characters are capable of manipulating time with a wide array of abilities.  These invocations utilize power to create a variety of game-changing effects.  A character might step out of time only to appear a little while later, slow down friction so an area freezes over with ice, or summon deadly paradox to wither away a subject’s arm or leg.  You might have the ability to predict the best response to a question, or perhaps you can doom a subject in combat before the fight even starts.

There are 12 invocation schools and eighteen different abilities in each school, offering players an ample selection of abilities to choose from.

Agitation- The ability to accelerate molecular activity, creating personal bursts of speed or heating up molecules until they burst into flame.

Anarchy- The ability to open up tears in reality and rapidly age objects and make them rot away.

Conservation- Slow down molecular activity until ice forms in an area.  Create bubbles of stasis so you can move around unseen.  

Displacement- The ability to instantly traverse vast spaces instantly, teleport behind foes into their blind spots, and create dimensional spaces only you can access.  

Finis Mortum- Predict and bring people closer to death.  Create constructs and attacks out of void energy.  

Malarkey- The gift of predictive gab and control.  Malarkey allows you to gain people's trust and forces them to give up some of their deepest secrets.  

Multitude- Bring in copies of yourself from alternate timelines.  These clones can act as decoys, messengers, or straight up assassins.

Progression- Put implants into your body that improve your ability to survive combat, by installing subdermal armor, or even forging a mental link with your ship.  

Revisionism- Inflict poisonous paradox on those fighting against you.  Cast bolts of lightning, or wither them away by overloading their Paradox Suits.

Siphon- Utilize temporal echoes of people unwritten by time to achieve your goals.  Gain super strength, or become very difficult to kill by consuming these temporal ghosts.  

Union- Create disguises, or ghostly replicas of your gear when captured.  Become the master of infiltration or enhance your gear for better effects.  Generate false backgrounds in this timeline instantaneously allowing you to become anyone you wish.  

Whimsy- Override a target's mental faculties with temporal ghosts, or generate a scream that can force people to their knees.  Create an aura of fear around yourself.

Gameplay- Chronorogue is a system that blends both mechanics and roleplay to give the players the best experience.  Skill checks and combat rolls sometimes come with a narrative flair, allowing a player who rolled well enough to put their own spin on the narrative which can translate to additional damage (during instances of combat) or granting them a favorable outcome beyond simple success (during instances of normal skill checks).  

Players will receive jobs from Void Barons to infiltrate a variety of time periods to commit acts of theft, murder, or outright disruption.  Once the details are settled on, the crew will head to that era in their ship and locate their target.  They will use their skills and various abilities to finish the job, but they must be wary; there are those who hunt down time travelers and execute them. (This book contains rules for building custom jobs with suggested rewards so a GM can make a job last for several game sessions as the players may need to put other things in place before doing what they were ultimately sent to do.)
